I mainly write in Nasm (Netwide Assembler) although I do also use C++ and Python when necessary, I recently learned to use inline assembly so I favour C++ a bit more now. I'm running Devuan, which is Debian but without systemd to save ram, and I write code in mousepad (proper hackerman) and compile with nasm or g++.

Yeah, and assembly but it's a real pain to do that. I still haven't figured assembly out but coding in BASIC is done directly on the device.

Alright then I use Windows because I don't want to get into the pain of Linux
I usually use Dev for C++ because I don't need "solution files" that require 100's of MBs, Code should just work.
Usually notepad is fine but I use Sublime Text occasionally.
If I rate my skills it'd be something like
Web (HTML, CSS, JS, PHP, MySQL) > C++ > Java > Assembly > Python

I have my dad's amstrad cpc 464 here which runs BASIC, I made code to draw circles once.My calculator uses Ti-BASIC too which I used to create a complex polynomial solver.
